Comments: A city reporter is sent from Sacramento to interview a persistent local politician. The reporter witnesses Willie Stark's persecution by the local law enforcement firsthand. Having written his story, Jack heads home. Not much later, Willie becomes a lawyer, then he's pushed to run for governor. The idea is to siphon votes from an opponent of the incumbent, who's a powerful man. With help, Willie discovers his role in the farce and sets out to make things right. Can a self-proclaimed "hick" win over the establishment to become governor? Is Willie corruptible?

This classic is based on a Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel. Sadly, it is a story that has been repeated since the release of this film.
