Comments: A well-meaning Indian General offers a disused palace, where formerly prostitutes were kept, to Angelican nuns. The palace is located high in the Himalayas along a sheer cliff. A young nun is assigned to run the new, small convent. As time goes by, the nuns struggle to keep their wits. There's something about the mountain air that brings out their repressed feelings and memories.

This film is from a novel. It's award-winning. I can see why. Some of the scenes must have been incredibly stunning for audiences. The film is still important and noteworthy.
