Comments: A woman, evidently the head of a wealthy Northern England house, is found murdered by the cook and maid. The police quickly find one her adopted sons guilty. He is myseriously killed in prison. A year and a half later, a man arrives at the home claiming to have an alibi for the deceased son, unaware of the former's death in jail. This event reopens the old wound. Who could be the real killer?

This BBC mini-series has a sinister, almost evil, air. I can't define it any better. Perhaps it is because the program is loosely based on an Agatha Christie novel?
