Comments: A man overseeing the forming and transportation of gold bullion has been doing the same job for nineteen years. Of course, he's dreamed stealing the gold, but he never had a way to get it out of the country. That all changes when he meets the new lodger, who specializes in creating metallic memorabilia for the French.
This British film is a wonderful dark comedy! Where else can you see a Metropolitian Policeman oinking like a pig whilst riding on a getaway car? Also, I love how they poke fun at the disorganization of French customs. Mon Dieu! A young Audrey Hepburn has a bit part. There's a memorable, if unexpected, car chase, also. Quirky, British, and fun-loving: don't skip over this classic!
