Comments: Eddie Bartlett is late coming back from fighting the first World War. Upon his return to the States, he finds that there are no jobs open to him. The nation has slid into recession, created by peace and the Prohibition. He finds that the latter offers him opportunity. He rises to prominence of the racketeering world. The girl with whom he communicated whilst overseas has now grown up, and he wants her. But, does she want him?

This film is labeled a gangster classic and is based on a short story. I liked it. Maybe because it's a classic? There are quite a few period vehicles, too.
