I read the novel. It is, of course, better. My main disappointment with the film is that it takes the focus away from the individual and puts it on the international community. Some details are changed, too. Matt Damon does a good job but his character isn't as funny as I imagined.
It's beautifully filmed, which includes familiar sites in Utah. It's a fun adventure film. Read the novel!
