Comments: A Canadian orphan relocated to northern Canada after his trust fund, which was paying his tuition, runs out. There, he lives with his uncle in a small cabin. He sets out with Cree Indians on a big deer hunt. He and a Cree boy are lost while searching for a stone house. They must survive the winter in the barrens.
This movie is based on Farley Mowat's novel of the same title. I found that the movie writer changed the Cree boy's name, changed important events, and removed others. The movie isn't bad, if a bit dated; however it's not as good as the novel.
