She's making ends meet until her father uses their cabin as bail, and then fails to show up on the court date. She has to find her father--dead or alive--to keep her cabin and ensure some sort of life for her younger siblings.
It's hard to think of a tougher life than this broken family. The resilience of one young Missouri girl is very impressive. This is not an easy film to watch.
