Comments: This movie isn't too applicable to modern life because people don't pick up hitchhikers especially on a dark secluded road. Furthermore, this movie is very dated. The butchering that occurs in this movie happens in real life so the movie hasn't the same impact it may have twenty years ago.
The plot seems assembled haphazardly. Jennifer Jason Leigh's final scene is uniquely unexpected and almost redeems the movie as horror.
