Comments: David Niven stars as the original Bond. The James Bond before the '007 thing.' Niven's Bond is, ironically, highly respected for his purity. He's brought out of retirement to fight SMERSH, which in turn tries to corrupt him. Interesting plot because whenever one thinks that the movie's becoming a 'true' Bond film, the story takes an outrageous turn.
To add to the wackiness: most of the characters in the movie, including women, are 007s.
