Title (Year): John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) Age: 42 yearsGRS Rating: 0 of 5
Infractions: Blood & gore, corpse, autopsies, aliens Comments: The film opens with a Norwegian helicopter chasing a dog in snowy Antarctica. The research helicopter is shooting at a dog! When the dog escapes to the US station, one Norwegian occupant accidently blows up his helicopter and shoots at the dog. An American kills the Norwegian in self-defense. Two Americans visit the Norwegian research station to find out what has happened. This very graphic film is based on a novel. I would give it a negative rating for the listed infractions, if I could do so! Unlike the original film, this movie is not set in the arctic. It is memorable and definitely an '80s film! |
