Comments: The ailing Tony le Stéphanois is playing poker in Paris after his stint in prison. When criminal friends ask him to knock over Mappin & Webb, a jewelry shop, he backs out. Then, they find his former flame working in a restaurant in Montemarte, and he decides to take the job, only they will crack Mappin & Webb's safe.

This French film includes an intricate bank heist. The rest of the story is strong, too. Rififi is slang for "tough and rough". It's based on a novel. Recommended.
