Comments: Captain Christopher Pike has retreated to Montana while the Enterprise is being repaired. He doesn't want to go back out there due to something that spooked him. He's ordered back when another starship captain suggests that their first contact has gone bad. After that, we learn more about Captain Pike, who's an impressive individual with a shadow looming over him. Then, he continues to command the Enterprise, and explore "strange new worlds".

I like the young officers and their backstories. I like the visual effects and film sets. They remind me of the new Doctor Who when compared to the original: tastefully executed and considerate of the heritage.

Wow, I think this program is the best Star Trek since The Next Generation. The plots are insightful and personally engage the characters. Well done!
