Comments: Jack Torrance, an amateur writer, interviews for the winter caretaker job of a large hotel in the mountains of Colorado. The Overlook Hotel was built upon an Indian burial site in 1909. Back in 1970, one caretaker killed his family and himself! Jack takes the job nonetheless. Their son Danny has an imaginary friend named Tony. Danny has a sixth sense, or he "shines". Jack has a temper. How will they cope with the isolation? Can Wendy hold the family together?

This Stanley Kubrick film is famous. I believe this time was the first complete viewing for me. It sure is a powerful, horror film!
