Comments: A will lists Violet as the inheritor of a villa in the South of France. A marquis bequeathed it to her, much to the dismay of his wife, and to the curiosity of his son. Violet is too frail to travel; so her son and daughter-in-law and a number of others make the voyage. Meanwhile, the mansion is in dire need of cash to mend a leaky roof. Mary, as head of household, decides to allow a British film director to use the interior for his latest silent film. An intricate web of events unfold.

This film may be better than the original motion picture. Some of the scenes seem abbreviated--perhaps to reduce the length of the movie? All in all, it's well worth viewing if you enjoy these characters and their story.
