Comments: Set in the mid 21st century. Captain Black and his team discover a city of Mysterons on Mars and mistake its purpose as hostile and attack. The Mysterons swear vengeance against mankind. Captain Black is chosen as the Mysterons agent. Spectrum is assigned to protect mankind. Captains Scarlet and Brown are killed by the Mysterons, and reconstructions are substituted. Captain Scarlet falls to his death and returns to life, no longer under the control of the Mysterons and is now "virtually indestructible". He becomes an important asset of Spectrum.

This TV show is really enjoyable. The action is mostly portrayed by marionettes that move in a realistic manner, like moving their mouths and eyes. It's clever that the Mysterons are only heard, never seen. Oh, the ominous two circles of light! The British are so good at inspiring terror with very little. The details of the vehicles and sets are impressive also. I first watched this program long ago. It's still great today. Available on Tubi. Recommended!!
