Comments: Doctor MacFarlene has a dubious reputation in Edinburgh. He receives a woman and her small girl. The girl is paralyzed. The doctor has to turn the girl away. He's a teaching doctor. Then, he recruits one of his students, Donald Fettes. to be his assistant. The doctor buys cadavers for his classes from Mr. Gray, a cabman. How does he find them?

This horror film is loosely based on Robert Louis Stevenson's short story. It is true horror. Though, MacFarlene suggests that the ends justify the means, which poses a moral question. The film references the actual events that inspired the original story. I enjoyed the suspense and psychological conflict. Recommended.
