Comments: Mark Lewis photographs women with "no covers on their fronts", because "the magazines with girls on the front covers" sell the best. At least, that's what the shopkeeper tells him. Mark's an odd type, as one can understand! He's an aspiring camera man who's also a Peeping Tom and a murderer. He films his crimes! He develops a soft spot for an innocent, young woman who befriends him. Is she enough to stop his heinous crimes?

The intriguing filming of the first scene distinguishes this serial-killer film. Sadly, though, the main character wouldn't seem unusual today. This thriller must have been quite a shock in late '50s England. In America, Psycho was released in the same year, only two months later. One must wonder if Psycho was encouraged by this film, despite it being based on a novel printed in 1959. In modern times, this film inspired Last Night in Soho. Recommended; the film, not murder!
