Comments: A French king believes that the heart of a mermaid holds the key to eternal life. Therefore, he orders a captain to capture one. The mermaid will be sacrificed during the lunar eclipse. Meanwhile, the king's daughter--a fact that is only known to the king--is brought to the Palace of Versailles to be his musical composer. She's a headstrong young woman who's hated by the nuns. She hears the mermaid's song and makes it into a composition for the king.

This film is a fantastical history and not as evil as it sounds. It's not too bad. It's surprising that most of the cast is British. Based on a novel. I hope that this big budget film opens the eyes of Hollywood to Ms. Scodelario's potential talent.
