Comments: This film tells the story of Richard Jewell. He was the security officer who found an abandoned backpack in Centennial Park during the Olympics in Atlanta and unselfishly moved the crowd away from it. The backpack contained pipe bombs that detonated minutes later, killing only two, which is far fewer than if Richard had not acted so heroically.

This work explains the encroachment on Richard's rights by the FBI, since it claimed he was behind the bombing. Clint Eastwood directs this biography that is based on a book and article. Also, a negative effect of the news media is clearly portrayed. People forget that these powerful entities--the federal government and the media--can destroy lives of individuals. It is very much worth viewing.
