Comments: Chuck Tatum, a New York City reporter, has been fired from eleven newspapers in several big cities. He offers his service cheaply to a small 'paper in Albuquerque. He has no money and needs a big story to get back to the big city. After a year, he comes across a man trapped in a cave-in inside an Indian mountainside cemetery. He figures Leo's predicament is his big break. Chuck'll do anything to prolong the event. Poor Leo!

This powerful film should serve as a warning to the media: sensationalizing the news can kill people. However, the media isn't all to blame. The public is addicted to a good crisis, so long as it's someone else's. Billy Wilder hit the nail on the head with this movie. Recommended.
