Comments: A small group of men is ordered to cross no-man's-land and infiltrate the German lines to take prisoners. One man is a coward and another is injured and captured by the Germans. With the war over, the men try to get back to civilian life. The true hero is addicted to morphine and is now working in a bank for the coward.

This Depression-era drama is pretty good. I enjoyed the Communist inventor who turns into a capitalist as soon as he has money. The film is powerful today.
