Comments: This mini-series is told through eyes of Valery Legasov, a physicist, and Boris Shcherbina, a political minister. It relates the terrible events in spring of 1986 when Reactor Number Four of the Chernobyl Power Plant exploded.

This apologetic HBO mini-series is captivating. I nevered imagined the dismal situation of the firefighters and technicians. That's not to forget the three plant workers and 400 miners who sacrificed themselves to save the lives of millions. Then, there is the heroism of the intellectuals. It is very lucky for us there were many brilliant individuals in the Soviet Union who spoke out and saved our lives!

The production of this program is amazing! It's not all gloom. There are some funny scenes. In closing, the disgusting reminder of Soviet Socialism's hatred of intellectuals is something that should be remembered and avoided.
