Comments: In 1941 Finland, a freshly-trained machine gun battalion--as well as the rest of the army--is mobilized to repel the Soviet invaders. The Continuation War has begun, and the Finns aim to recover their lost territory, Karelia.

This Finnish film features intensive scenes of the war. The bravery of the Finnish foot soldiers against superior numbers and tanks is amazing. The movie also shows the deprivation and brutality of the Soviet soldiers. I liked the Finnish soldier yelling back at Soviet Propaganda from his trench. The film is based on the novel of the same title and is available on YouTube free of charge.
