Comments: Hunt is the foreman for a long-time auto plant. Then, it closes. He flies to Japan to convince the executives of Assan Motors to buy the plant and rehire all the workers. The entire town of Hadleyville, Pennsylvania depends on jobs from the plant. When the Japanese accept the offer, the auto workers find a much different way of business. They look to Hunt--now employee liaison officer--for help. The general manager is sent from Japan after failing once.

This Ron Howard production is fun and offers a good message. The cultural differences between the Japanese and Americans make for a humorous film! There are lots of shots of assembly lines. There's a serious theme, also.
