Infractions: War Comments: The Nazi troops mass on the Danish border. The Danish government tells their soldiers not to take a defensive stand, stating that it is too aggressive. This film follows a specific bicycle company as they attempt to follow their orders, amid chaos. I love how this film reminds the audience that a common transport in Denmark is the bicycle, even in times of war. Just think about that: cycling to war. Furthermore, it's unusual that the commanding officer refers to his soldiers as two-hundred-numbers (e.g. "223"). The style reminds me of The Winter War, because the odds are nearly impossible to win. There are short statements by individuals from the original Company at the end of the film. |
