Comments: In the near future, mankind is pushing out into the Solar System. This exploration comes at a cost: explorers must endure many months away from their loved ones. One famed explorer is looking for life on Neptune. Then, the power surges start arriving at Earth. NASA determines that the surges originate from Neptune. They contemplate sending the explorer's son on a mission, with the hope that he can solve the problem. But when the son becomes, how they see it: too attached; NASA removes him from the mission. The trouble is blood is thicker than--err, NASA. What will the son find near Neptune? Will he survive the journey?

I love the feel of the film. I feel that this film is closer to The Martian than the film made from the novel. Yes, this movie is much more serious, but the attention to detail for space travel is spot-on. This film also presents the loneliness of space travel quite well. Also, there's a car chase. Yes, it is probably the first one not taking place on Earth! This may be a modern 2001: A Space Odyssey. I highly recommend this very enjoyable, if slightly flawed, film.
