Comments: Inspector Gently's wife is struck by a speeding car, and she dies. The grieving London inspector almost gives up his commission. But he realizes that someone has to fight for the good, since he knows there's corruption in the police force. He moves to the Northeast and is assigned a willing, if prejudiced, young sergeant.

This police drama is exciting. I liked the classic, British cars, too. It's filmed in Ireland, despite being set in the North. It's based on a series of novels.
