Comments: Araminta Ross, "Minty", is a slave and hopes to gain her master's approval to marry a free black man. When her owner denies the bond and forces Minty's husband off his land, she starts to form an escape plan. Fearing their capture, she leaves behind her "free" husband. Little does she expect that she would become a leader after her solo escape. Harriet Tubman is born as soon as she becomes a free woman.

This film is probably not too accurate, but it is inspirational. The ideals of this trailblazer seem intact. I cannot vouch for accuracy, I've only read part of her famous novel. Still, it makes a good period drama.
