RKO Pictures chose Mr. Mitchum over George Raft because they needed to boost the image of this simplistic film. Mitchum had just been arrested for the possession of marijuana, making him the latest "bad boy" of Hollywood! The film is decent with some comedy. There's a speeded-up car chase, also.
