Comments: The film opens with a man releasing his girl to the Florida public school system. She's entering the first grade. The difference is that this girl has advanced mathematical skills. When her teacher brings to the forefront her pupil's expertise, the man, her uncle, excuses it. It's not until the principal is brought in that the Massachusetts lawsuit comes to bear, backed by the child's grandmother.

This sweet film reminds us that even highly-intelligent children have feelings and deserve a childhood. Today, many focus on the long-term situation and forget that an individual is growing and needs the vital steps of "growing up", regardless of intelligence. Well done!
