Comments: A man returns home to find his mother had died years before. His father hadn't forgiven him for not returning after the close of the War Between the States. However, he was happy to have him back. The town had come under the rule of a land man buying up farms for the railroad. His tactics are ruthlessly executed by his henchmen. With the goal of staying out of trouble, and starting a new life, the man wants to leave behind his occupation as a gunslinger. Can he?

The first scene is creepy, and well presented! I was overwhelmed by the power and didn't know what type of film to expect. My patience was rewarded, because I found this film to be an enjoyable Western. I hate to write that a villain is a good character, but he is. Mr. Cox outshines the other lead actors. Perhaps the two Sutherlands were just too excited to work together in the same scene, for the first time, that their performances weren't stellar? This modern film will hit the spot for classic Western movie fans, if one can ignore the infractions.
