Comments: Four college women drive to Ft. Lauderdale for spring break, leaving their snowy Midwest campus. They have to survive on a shoestring budget and are hoping to meet decent boys. Meanwhile the police dread the onslaught of the Northerner spring breakers.
This silly film has many witty one-liners. There are lots of classic cars, and the women look great, too! Since this film is based on a novel, it's not just silliness. There's a real moral to the story. After all, this film was released at the crossroads of the '50s and '60s, with its conflicted views about sex. I believe this film was one of the first--if not the first--to address teenage sexuality.
