Comments: Mary Stuart returns to Scotland from France. She challenges Elizabeth, Queen of England. Despite being cousins and holding admiration for one another, only one can be the queen of England and Scotland.

This is a good historical drama. I don't understand the sprinkling of non-white people as characters in this film, as it seems out of place in the British Isles at that time. (It must be expected by today's audiences.) Otherwise, it is well executed. It was good to see a movie about the famous woman who was exiled in Bolton Castle in North Yorkshire for so many years. This film is based on a novel.
