Comments: In this version, a young boy is left behind, after he falls in love with Jane. Meanwhile, he is welcomed by a female gorilla. The boy waits for Jane's return and grows into his image of apes: Tarzan.

I really enjoyed the Edgar Rice Borroughs' novel. This animated film is good, but not quite there. They kept integral parts whilst missing the gist. The importance of the knife and the cabin--not shown--are ignored. The story really needs them. It would have been pleasant if they had left in how Tarzan learned to read and write, too. Also, the Frenchman is completely left out. Still, this animated film was better than expected.
