Comments: A scientist is going through a divorce. He's also trying to develop a machine that records all senses, essentially communication through virtual reality. He works with his soon-to-be ex-wife for the first time. That's when the machine begins to record deep emotions. So when the lead scientist dies and leaves a final recording, morals become cloudy. Meanwhile, the military is interested in the machine.

This film does a good job of exploring death and the after-life. There are some good shots of Kill Devil Hill. It was filmed in North Carolina. The VR scenes are filmed in a high-frame-rate, very-wide format. Neat effect. There's lots of product placement, too.

The film is dedicated to Natalie Wood, who died under mysterious circumstances near the end of the filming. Popular Mechanics has a good article about this film. See it here.
