Comments: A squad of Union soldiers are scouring the border state of Kentucky for supplies. During one visit to a Confederate soldier's wife and son, one of the Union scouts is gravely injured. The soldiers stay at the farm while trying to nurse him back to good health. The woman initially hates them, but as time goes by, she seems to be warming to them.

This film is a character study of the two main characters. There's not a lot of plot and action. It's interesting to see how folks in the border states coped with the Civil War. This film grew out of a event recalled by a Kentucky mountaineer.
