Comments: Since genetic engineering has been banned--at least the type in this film--a large corporation decides to finance the experiments in space. That's all well and good until an experiment destroys the space station and send several, re-entry-proof, cylinders back to earth. What happens if a cylinder lands in the Great Plains, one in the Everglades, and one in a zoo in San Diego?

The computer effects of the gorillas is impressive without being obtrusive. The story moves along well for a monster film. I do have a few comments.

Why was Mr. Johnson's and Ms. Harris's characters detained by the Department of Homeland Security without charge? Is this a case of the cinema acclimating the public to a potential police state? Though, it's not like a tie wrap could hold "The Rock"!

I could do without the product placement for the Ford Bronco. The two leads could have run out of the building and chased down the gorilla. There was no reason to pull up in the new Bronco. Come on: let the audience say that's a cool truck without being beat over the head with it!

Why would a B2 stealth bomber have conventional fighters as escorts? The idea of the B2 is to drop bombs undetected. But, whatever: it's Hollywood!

All in all, this is a fun monster film that benefits from the acting and smooth plot. It was inspired by a video game. Well done!
