Comments: The film opens with a man walking through the desert in the rain. He arrives at a cave camp, where two men are avoiding the torrent. They ask him if he'd heard about the murders in Silver Springs that followed the Wells Fargo bank robbery. He says that he had heard, and proceeds to shoot the two men. At this point, the audience is wondering who this man is. That's when he helps a young couple move their wagon out of the mud. Later, they learn that he's the ex-sheriff of Silver Springs. And that his wife has just been murdered.

This Western is excellent. Gail Russell is pretty and does a very good job performing her part. This straightforward movie presents a twist about midway through. I wondered if it would affect the outcome of the film. This movie is mostly filmed in the beautiful areas around Lone Pine, California. Remember my trip there? Recommended.
