Comments: It's the 1980s. Life is questionable in the Soviet Union. One Francophile Russian decides to provide secrets of KGB operations in the West to a Frenchman living in the Soviet Union. He hopes such secrets will awaken the West to the threat from the Bolsheviks. But will the Frenchman be eliminated for what he knows?

This French film is based on a novel, which loosely describes an actual man. It's really very good. Seeing a spy thriller where the characters aren't tortured on screen is something new and, hopefully, a coming trend. The humanity of the characters in this film is obvious, as with most French films. I recommend this alternative look at the Cold War.
