Comments: A, presumably, Southern officer is now herding up Indians in the West. His history reminds us that he's no fan of Native Americans. So when he's ordered to escort an elderly chief, with whom he has fought, to his homeland to await death; he almost quits. Along the way, they encounter an abused frontier woman, who has been attacked by rogue Indians. After this, the elderly chief decides to unite forces with the soldier.

Ms. Pike is so convincing that it's impressive. I enjoyed how the main character grew out of himself, too. As the story moves along, his acceptance of the Indians grows. That's what makes a good Western! There's also a suggestion of the peace of the scenery. Recommended!
