Comments: A young woman wants to help out, and when her boyfriend cannot make ends meet; she finds an opportunity. She accepts a job as an assistant screenwriter. Naturally, she wants to write about the many heroic activities of the British public during the retreat at Dunkirk. The snag is: will it be acceptable; or, will it be even remotely true?

This film is set in Britain during the dark days of World War II: the Blitz. I enjoy period films, especially those set in this period. I also like films where women shine from their accomplishments. This movie showcases both. But, deep down, this film is a wartime romance. Bill Nighy is hilariously awful, too. Enjoy!
