Comments: An arrogant Edinburgh detective is bucking for a promotion. In fact, the survival of his marriage seems to depend on it. Making that promotion becomes his focus in life. So when he cannot save the life of a man who dies in the street and the widow's wife proclaims him a "good man", his life starts to unravel.

This film is based on a novel. Straight out of the gates, there are characters breaking the fourth wall. The first part of this film is absolutely hilarious. I really enjoyed the back stories of the characters. That's how I'd do it. The main character starts out like a Scottish Gene Hunt. But he's definitely not the same character. The ending credits remind me of A Life Less Ordinary. Off the wall, but tremendously enjoyable. Curiously, almost all of the characters have blue eyes.
