Comments: A simple man is the unspoken partner of a powerful, and good, rancher in Montana. But, another of their company seeks to run the new State. When the rancher is killed, the simple man is presented as the murderer. His fleeing only cements his guilt for many. Of course, he is not guilty. Instead, he attempts to find the true killer. What he finds could undo him.

This fairly simple Western is very good. The acting is a bit ragged at the start, but grows well. I like the short role by Peter Fonda. What really carries this film is the story and acting. The scenery is also excellent. Like any good Western, it's more than the sum of its parts. Well done.
