Comments: The second world war is progressing well for Germany. To win over the rest of the German public, Hitler suggests re-instating the Kaiser. (He and his family are in exile in Holland.) A young officer is sent to protect the former ruler. But, will the young man's personal feelings for a young woman overwhelm him?

This film has a turbulent start. Once it's finally underway, the film begins to work. I can even forgive the example of female dominance. (I suppose it could have happened in wartime Europe.)

I'll admit that I only rented this film to see Lily James. I certainly didn't expect to see so much of her! I'm not complaining, though. I guess that's a wartime film. This movie is based on a novel.
