Comments: In the distant future, Earth is united against the threat posed by an insect-like species. Johnny Rico is just graduating from high school and decides to join the Mobile Infantry to chase a girl, who's enlisted as a pilot trainee. War is declared when their hometown is destroyed, sealing their choice. But when the "bugs" put up a dramatic resistance, will mankind win?

I've read Heinlein's novel twice. This film is based on it. The novel is different. The film has no power armor and focuses on the squad, unlike the novel. However, the changes probably made the movie more palatable for audiences. I like how the movie introduced the novel's unique political ideas about citizenship. For more "realism", I'd recommend Roughnecks. Though, this film is not bad.
