Comments: After midnight, a wife calls her brother-in-law claiming that she has killed her husband. He calls a trusted Montréal police detective and the two verify that the head and arm of a body has been flattened in one of his hydraulic presses. The body is confirmed to be that of the husband. The wife will not divulge a motive until her brother-in-law claims that he has killed a white-headed fly. Then, and only then, does she reveal her fantastic story.

I have never seen the '80s remake of this film, so this story was fairly unknown to me. I really enjoyed this film. It's tasteful, reasonable, and human, with that '50s science-fiction flair. I enjoyed how the audience is prepared for the horror, instead of it being thrown into our faces suddenly. Ms. Owens acting carries the film, too. Recommended.
