Comments: An air force pilot attempts the first X-80 "space" flight 100 miles up. He's nearly in space and somehow jumps forward nearly half a century in time. There, he finds a culture living beneath the ground. They are mostly deaf and mute, having survived a plague. Can he return to his own time to warn of the upcoming plague?
