Comments: Just before the Battle of the Hurtgen Forest in the autumn of 1944, a private walks out of the woods as the lone survivor. He tries his best to get a Section 8 (discharged for insanity). It doesn't work. He then finds himself the leader of a squad. He continues to demonstrate his leadership skills and is promoted just before a would-be deadly push againt Nazi tanks near Schmidt.

This HBO TV movie is very good. It may not be completely accurate. Still, I found it enjoyable and admirable. This battle was overshadowed by the Battle of the Bulge. It's good to see the sacrifices of the men involved credited in this film.
