Comments: An enormous meteor has hit the north Atlantic, resulting in an unimaginably large wave. Europe is gone. The American Eastern Seaboard "has been affected, as has the west coast of Africa." The wave is making its way around the globe towards Australia, bringing with it a firestorm of destruction. In 12 hours it will strike Western Australia. The main character is determined to get to his party, despite the impending disaster. Along the way, he rescues a cute, little girl who was kidnapped by a pair of unsavory men. His choice is to party or to help a child in need.

This Australian, apocalyptic film is set in Perth. It does an excellent job of portraying what could happen in such a situation. But there's also a voice of reason. The man on the radio brings the crisis back to earth during the calm intervals. The most enjoyable aspect is that a drug-using party animal is changed by a young girl. She makes him what he should be, even if it's only right before the end. I recommend this somber, human film!
